About This Listing
Our first delivery from Guitares Boucher in Quebec arrived this week, and ... wow! Power and clarity are the first words that come to mind! This guitar easily qualifies as a 'banjo killer' - it will stand out in a bluegrass combo or any other band setting! Be sure to check out the demonstration video by our good friend Doug Yeomans and you'll see what we mean!
This model BG-152-M - a Bluegrass Goose series Boucher - features an Adirondack Spruce top and a gorgeous set of straight grained Madagascar Rosewood for the back and side set. The binding and end wedge are Koa, making for a nice contrast with the rosewood. The purfling, rosette and end wedge trim are classic Herringbone. Ebony is used where it should be on a classic dreadnaught!
Other specs: long scale at 25-1/2"; 1-3/4" nut width. 2.2" string spacing at the bridge. The sound hole is on the large side at 4-1/8", helping to produce that volume and power that Bluegrass players look for. Body depth at the end pin is 5". The nut and saddle are bone. Bridge pins are 4mm Black Tusq. Gotoh Chrome open machine head tuners. Two way truss rod. The one piece neck is solid South American Mahogany with a smooth satin finish.
We are just blown away by our first shipment of Boucher guitars - both are wonderful Dreadnaughts! Boucher builds with Adirondack soundboards, which makes a lot of sense when you consider that they are located in the region of Quebec where Picea Rubens, aka Adirondack red spruce, grows in abundance. In fact, Boucher supplies thousands of Adirondack soundboards to guitar builders around the world.
